Bruce — You should definitely get a Lensbaby. It’s one of those looks that I really don’t think you can successfully duplicate with software. The Composer doesn’t feel quite as “creative” (for lack of a better word) than the old flexy ones but my winner-to-sucky ratio is much higher with it. The push-pull focus was definitely an adjustment.

Doug — I can’t remember if I borrowed your whole rig or just the Lensbaby when I went to Canada but I remember seeing the “hose-and-paperweight” contraption. The flared wide angle attachment on my Composer looks like either the mouthpiece from a old telephone (the kind you had to crank) or some creature from a Dr. Seuss book. I’ll post a photo of it later today if I can…

Very cool LB set Mike. They all look “purposeful” to me. I remember doing LB 1.0 shots with my low-tech, crappy, wide-angle attachment. It looks like a floppy hose with a paper weight on the front. I’ll have to take a photo of the rig and show you guys – you’ll laugh out loud.

The waffle shot is a perfect example of a great use for the Lensbaby Composer. Now I’m hungry for blueberry waffles.

We’ve been heading to the farmer’s market quite a bit this summer as well. It’s a great place to support local merchants and get healthier food.
